The American Lung Association appreciates all of your great work these last weeks and months on behalf of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. As you know, this bipartisan legislation (S 625/HR 1108) overwhelmingly passed out of the U.S. House of Representatives and is awaiting floor action in for the U.S. Senate.

It's important that your Senators continue to hear from you about the need for them to work to ensure the Senate considers the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act in September.

Please let your Senators know how important this legislation is by writing a letter to the editor explaining why S 625 needs to be considered by the Senate in September. This is a perfect time to write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper as Congress will be back home for the remainder of the month for the congressional recess.

When you write your letter, please be sure to include a sentence that encourages your Senators to push for this legislation to be considered in September. Please also include your Senators by name in the letter.
