The American Lung Association of Alaska is dedicated to the conquest of lung disease and the promotion of lung health in our great state. Smoking alone kills more Americans than AIDS, alcohol, car accidents, fires, cocaine, heroin, murders and suicides combined. Of 604,324 resident Alaskans, 69,628 currently have some form of chronic lung disease, which includes lung cancer, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, adult asthma or pediatric asthma.
